We normally meet at Elysian Park. On some occasions, we meet at Vista Hermosa Park.

We believe there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. When it rains, we cover our belongings to keep them as dry as possible. Children should be wearing warm and waterproof clothing. Playing in the rain brings a new sensory element that everyone has so much fun in! When it gets really hot, we have as much water play as possible. We go on shorter nature walks and stay in the shade as much as possible. Every year, we ask our families if they would rather have their children on a “rain day” trip where we would go to an indoor facility such as a museum or art studio.

There are days we might need to cancel school completely for lightning, severe flooding, severe wind or an AQI at 150 or above.

With severe weather conditions, naptime might be canceled and the school day would be shortened to 1pm.

We understand that a child’s first day can be a huge transition for the whole family. It can be an emotional experience. We allow parents to stay for a short time only if the child needs it. Sometimes, a parent staying can be harder on the child.

Our staff will work with the child and take them on a walk, offer hugs, allow the child to sit with a teacher, or also have a good cry. We are confident that your child will be supported and loved with respect and kindness.

Our children are ages 2-5.

Potty training is not required. When your family is ready to start potty training your child, please let us know so we can mirror that at school.

We have a potty tent with a small potty that children who are using the toilet can utilize.

Water bottle, lunch and snack, extra change of clothes (including socks and shoes), sunscreen and hat.
